Maryanne Pollock

2016

My work is an investigation into genomic grids or intersections of memory, genetic coding, and super-consciousness as it morphs into color/form and recedes back into potentiality.

Plein air architectural and botanical studies inform the intuitive process of layering color fields and kinetic compositions. Intricate brain wave patterns, aerial views of deserts, land, and cityscapes are alluded to.  Plein air studies of Egypt, Washington, New Mexico and Spain directly inform my paintings.

These abstract inner-landscapes, without focal point and constantly in flux, are not unlike the ever-mutable dance between man and nature.
